Bobby Murcer singled home Chris Chambliss with the go-ahead run in the seventh and the Yankees spoiled things for the largest crowd at Arlington Stadium this season, beating the Rangers and Jackie Brown, 6-4. Ron Blomberg's groundout chased home Thurman Munson, who had walked and moved to third on Murcer's hit, with an insurance run. The Yankees grabbed a 4-0 lead in the second against starter David Clyde with four singles and a double by Roy White. The Rangers got one back in the second and tied the score on Jim Fregosi's three-run homer in the fourth. Winner Dick Tidrow was lifted in the ninth, and New York reliever Sparky Lyle struck out the side to end the game. [The Sporting News]
