The Dodgers knocked out Ernie McAnally before he could retire a batter in the first inning and scored four runs to pave the way for a 6-3 victory over the Expos. Davey Lopes drew a walk to lead off and crossed the plate on singles by Bill Buckner and Jim Wynn. Steve Garvey doubled, driving in two runs, and then scored himself on a single by Willie Crawford. Ron Cey homered in the fifth and Wynn in the seventh for the other Dodger runs. Ron Fairly hit one with a man on base for the Expos. [The Sporting News]
