Posting his first N. L. shutout, Jim Lonborg yielded only two hits and pitched the Phillies to a 4-0 victory over the Padres. A triple by Larry Bowa and infield out by Mike Schmidt in the third inning supplied the only run that Lonborg needed, but the Phillies added a tally in the seventh on doubles by Bob Boone and Dave Cash before locking up the game in the eighth when Schmidt singled and Bill Robinson homered.
