Following the example set by Lynn McGlothen in the previous night's game, John Curtis pitched the Cardinals to a 2-0 victory over the Reds. McGlothen beat the Reds, 1-0. Curtis allowed only three hits. Lou Brock and Reggie Smith combined for both Cardinal runs. Their doubles produced the first tally in the sixth inning and the other run followed in the eighth when Brock singled and Smith hit his second double. [The Sporting News]
