. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Getting four-hit pitching from Rick Reuschel, the Cubs defeated the Pirates, 7-1. Jose Cardenal had three hits for the Cubs, scored two runs and drove in one. Reuschel also scored a run, hitting a double in the fifth inning and coming around on an infield out and a sacrifice fly by Rick Monday. The Pirates counted their lone runs when Willie Stargell tripled in the seventh and Richie Hebner hit a sacrifice fly. [The Sporting News]
