While Steve Rogers was pitching a six-hitter, the Expos piled up 15 hits and defeated the Phillies, 9-2. Rogers got a working margin in the first inning when the Expos scored three runs on five singles. Ron Fairly homered in the third and the Expos then made it 9-0 with five runs in the fourth. Larry Lintz opened the inning with a triple and scored on a single by Willie Davis. After a walk to Ken Singleton, George Culver booted a bunt by Fairly, allowing Davis to cross the plate. A single by Bob Bailey, double by Jim Cox and single by Barry Foote added three other runs. The Phillies bunched four singles for their tallies off Rogers in the sixth inning. [The Sporting News]
