Stan Bahnsen retired the first 23 batters in succession while pitching the White Sox to a 1-0 victory over the Twins in a duel with Bert Blyleven. Bahnsen's bid for a no-hitter was spoiled when Bobby Darwin singled with two out in the eighth inning. Jerry Terrell added a single in the ninth.
