After failing in a bunt attempt, Larry Hisle swung away and smashed a two-run homer in the eighth inning to bring the Twins a 2-1 victory over the Angels. Joe Lis singled before Hisle came to the plate. Following his failure to bunt, Hisle received the green light on the next pitch by Frank Tanana. The Angels' run came in the fifth on a pass to Ellie Rodriguez, sacrifice by Dave Chalk and single by Mickey Rivers. [The Sporting News]
