Sparked by Alex Johnson, who hit his first homer of the season, the Rangers scored three runs in the eighth inning and defeated the Twins, 4-3. Cesar Tovar doubled, went to third on an infield out and stole home to account for the Ranger run in the first inning, but Steve Brye doubled and Luis Gomez singled for the tying tally in the second and Tony Oliva put the Twins ahead with a homer in the sixth.
