Pinch-hitter Vic Correll, previously batting only .095 on 2-for-21, drove in his first run of the season with a single in the 11th inning to give the Braves a 1-0 victory over the Phillies. Ralph Garr, who collected three of the Braves six hits off Steve Carlton, opened the stanza with a double. Darrell Evans, attempting to bunt, popped up before Correll batted for Rowland Office and delivered the winning hit. Carl Morton pitched the first 10 innings for the Braves and yielded only four hits. The victory went to Tom House, who took over in the 11th and set down the side in order. [The Sporting News]
