Two homers by Rico Petrocelli and one by Tommy Harper, each with a man on base, helped power the Red Sox to a 9-7 victory over the White Sox. Petrocelli's first homer came in the third inning when the Red Sox scored five times to take a 5-3 lead. Harper added his two-run blow in the fourth. After the White Sox picked up a pair in the fifth, Carl Yastrzemski walked in the Red Sox half and Petrocelli hit his second homer of the game to provide the winning margin.
