Six-hit pitching by Steve Carlton and a squeeze bunt by Del Unser, who scored Larry Bowa with the tie-breaking run in the eighth inning, highlighted the Phils' 5-2 victory over the Braves. Bowa opened the eighth with a single, moved to second on Greg Luzinski's hit and stole third, his 16th consecutive theft and 17th in 18 tries. On Unser's bunt, Bowa beat pitcher Carl Morton's throw home. Willie Montanez followed with a two-run double. In hurling a sixth straight complete game, Carlton fanned 11 and ran his season's record to 7-4. [The Sporting News]
