The Indians smashed five homers, two in one inning and three in another, to defeat the Rangers, 9-3, before a subdued but enthusiastic crowd as compared with the riotous throng that forced the previous night's game to be forfeited to the Rangers. Charlie Spikes and George Hendrick started the Indians' attack with solo swats in the second inning. Then in the sixth, Frank Duffy led off with a homer and Oscar Gamble and Dave Duncan each hit for the circuit with two men on base. The Rangers had one round-tripper by Jim Spencer.
