Although Leroy Stanton and Frank Robinson batted in seven runs between them, it was not enough for the Angels, who lost to the Brewers, 9-7. Stanton and Robinson each homered with two men on base and Stanton added another RBI with an infield out. The Brewers, who had a bases-loaded double by George Scott in the first inning, were trailing, 7-6, when Scott opened the seventh with another double. With one out, Darrell Porter walked and Charlie Moore doubled to drive in Scott with the tying run. Pedro Garcia was handed an intentional pass to load the bases.
