The Mets took Tom Seaver off the hook with a score-tying rally in the seventh inning and then won the game for reliever Ray Sadecki when John Milner homered in the eighth to beat the Reds, 4-3. Seaver was trailing, 3-1, when he went out for pinch-hitter Ed Kranepool, who singled with two away in the seventh. Ted Martinez ran for Kranepool. After singles by Bud Harrelson and Felix Millan loaded the bases, Cleon Jones singled to drive in the two tying runs. [The Sporting News]
