. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Allowing only three hits, Larry Dierker pitched the Astros to a 4-0 victory over the Expos for his first shutout since July 4, 1972. The triumph ended the righthander's personal three-game losing streak and put him back in the winning column for the first time since April 15. The Astros scored their first two runs in the second inning. Johnny Edwards singled and counted on a double by Doug Rader, who took third on the throw to the plate and scored on a wild pitch. Lee May produced the two other runs with a pair of homers. [The Sporting News]
