. . . where the 1970s live forever!

A Bat Night crowd of 53,689 saw Jim Wynn collect three hits, including a homer in the ninth inning that brought the Dodgers a 6-5 victory over the Cubs. The Dodgers took a 4-0 lead in the first two innings, two runs scoring on a single by Wynn, before homers by Andre Thornton, Rick Monday and George Mitterwald powered the Cubs ahead, 5-4. Monday hit an inside-the-park drive with two men on base in the sixth.

The Dodgers tied the score at 5-5 in the seventh on singles by Bill Buckner and Wynn and a grounder by Steve Garvey for his 50th RBI of the year. Wynn was right behind him with 49 RBIs after connecting for his winning homer off Dave LaRoche in the ninth. [The Sporting News]
