Posting his first shutout of the season, Carl Morton was the winner in a duel with Harry Parker when Davey Johnson drove in a run for the Braves with a single in the eighth inning to beat the Mets, 1-0. With one out, Darrell Evans walked in the eighth and stopped at second on a single by Dusty Baker. Hank Aaron lined to Cleon Jones, who dropped the ball but recovered in time to force Evans at third.
