. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Capping a seven-run outburst, Eric Soderholm smashed a grand-slam homer in the third inning as the Twins breezed to an 8-2 victory over the Indians. Singles by Glenn Borgmann, Luis Gomez, Jerry Terrell and Larry Hisle accounted for the first two runs before Tony Oliva and Bobby Darwin were retired. Steve Braun then singled to drive in another run before Craig Kusick walked to load the bases, setting the stage for Soderholm's slam off Ken Sanders in relief of Bob Johnson. Soderholm also singled for his fifth RBI of the night in the fifth inning. Charlie Spikes and Dave Duncan homered for the Indians, who collected only five hits off Joe Decker. [The Sporting News]
