. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Hank Aaron homered off longtime adversary Bob Gibson in the second inning and drove in another run with a double in the third to start the Braves off to a 6-1 victory over the Cardinals. The homer was Aaron's 11th of the season and 724th of his career. Roric Harrison, who pitched the route for the Braves, joined in the attack with a two-run homer in the sixth. After the Cardinals picked up an unearned run on an error by Rowland Office in the eighth, the Braves loaded the bases in their half and counted their last two tallies on a walk to Darrell Evans and sacrifice fly by Dusty Baker.
