Paul Splittorff retired 21 batters in succession and allowed only two hits in the course of pitching the Royals to a 7-0 victory over the Brewers in the first game of a scheduled twi-night doubleheader. The second game was prevented by rain after Amos Otis had given the Royals a 1-0 lead with a homer in the first inning. However, Otis had homer that counted and John Mayberry also hit for the circuit in Splittorff's victory. [The Sporting News]
