Jim Kaat was the winner of a five-hit duel with Vic Albury when Brian Downing singled and Jorge Orta homered in the 10th inning to give the White Sox a 3-1 victory over the Twins. The White Sox counted their initial run in the first on a walk to Downing, safe bunt by Jorge Orta, a wild pitch and infield out by Ron Santo.
