Posting his third shutout of the season, Ken Brett pitched the Pirates to a 6-0 victory over the Cubs. Richie Zisk provided the southpaw with the only run he needed by hitting a homer in the second inning, but the Pirates proceeded to ice the decision with four runs in the fourth. Brett capped the outburst by driving in a pair with a single. The Pirates' last tally came on singles by Manny Sanguillen, Kurt Bevacqua and Rennie Stennett in the eighth. [The Sporting News]
