Bobby Grich drove in his 42nd and 43rd runs of the season with a two-run homer in the second, and Doyle Alexander evened his record at 3-3 with a five-hitter as the Orioles pinned a 3-1 defeat on the Tigers' Lerrin LaGrow. Grich's 12th round-tripper of the campaign came in the second after Boog Powell had led off with a double. Baltimore's final tally came in the seventh when Tiger reliever Luke Walker walked Brooks Robinson with the bases loaded.
