The combination of John D'Acquisto's pitching and a three-run homer by Bobby Bonds enabled the Giants to defeat the Padres, 4-2, and snap a six-game losing streak. Bonds' belt off Randy Jones in the second inning followed a double by Dave Rader and pass to D'Acquisto. The Giants' pitcher also scored in the fourth, hitting a double and crossing the plate on a single by Chris Speier. The Padres picked up their pair in the sixth when Bobby Tolan doubled, Enzo Hernandez singled and Johnny Grubb doubled. [The Sporting News]
