. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Although forced to wait out a rain delay of one hour, 24 minutes in the seventh inning, Gaylord Perry won his 15th straight game, pitching the Indians to a 4-2 victory over the Brewers. Perry owed thanks to John Lowenstein, who drove in all of the Indians' runs, three with a homer in the fifth and the last tally with a safe squeeze bunt in the seventh. Perry doled out seven hits and did not issue a pass.

The Brewers scored once in the fourth on a double by Johnny Briggs, sacrifice by Don Money and single by Deron Johnson. Bob Coluccio homered for the other run in the fifth. The homer was only the second off Perry in his last 10 games. [The Sporting News]
