The Angels suffered their 10th straight defeat and ninth in a row under Dick Williams as their new manager when they collected only four hits and lost to the Orioles, 3-1. The Angels' run off Mike Cuellar came in the first inning and was unearned to tie the score at 1-1. Dick Lange then dueled with Cuellar until the eighth when the Orioles broke away with singles by Rich Coggins and Tommy Davis and sacrifice fly by Boog Powell.
