The Angels' losing streak of 11 games, including 10 in a row under Williams as their new manager, came to an end when Ed Figueroa pitched a shutout for his first major league victory and beat the Red Sox, 7-0. The Angels started the scoring with a homer by Winston Llenas in the second inning. Frank Robinson hit a homer in the sixth and drove in another run with a single in the seventh. Figueroa gave up 10 hits but scattered them in holding the Red Sox scoreless. [The Sporting News]
