. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Charlie Spikes hit a homer, double, single and sacrifice fly, driving in three runs, to lead the Indians' attack in a 9-5 victory over the Twins. The Indians ripped Ray Corbin for four runs in the first inning on five hits, including doubles by John Ellis and George Hendrick.

Spikes got his first RBI of the game with his sacrifice fly. After Larry Hisle homered for the Twins in their half of the first, Spikes countered with his round-tripper in the third. The Twins closed in with three runs in the fourth, but the Indians pulled away again by scoring three times in the fifth, one run coming on Spikes' double. [The Sporting News]
