Steve Ontiveros and Dave Kingman batted in six runs between them as the Giants' first basemen in a 13-3 victory over the Phillies. Ontiveros drove in three runs with a bases-loaded double in the third and singled for another RBI in the fifth before leaving the game with a pulled leg muscle. Kingman, taking over at first base, hit a two-run homer in the eighth. Mike Caldwell, who had been plagued by tendinitis, made his first start since June 6 and gained his first victory since May 19 with the help of Randy Moffitt, who relieved in the seventh inning.
