The Angels beat the Indians for the first time in 10 meetings this season as Nolan Ryan, with ninth-inning help, hurled California to a 4-2 triumph, ending his personal three-game losing streak. Ryan had a three-hit shutout through eight innings before a double by George Hendrick and single by Buddy Bell produced the first Indian run.
