Ken Griffey and Joe Morgan hit homers in the Reds' support of Don Gullett, who beat the Cubs, 8-2, for his fifth straight victory. In the fifth inning, after Dave Concepcion doubled, Griffey rapped a line drive and raced around the bases with an inside-the-park homer when the ball bounced over the head of Jose Cardenal in right field and rolled to the fence. Morgan's homer accounted for the first of the Reds' two runs in the sixth and they added three more in the eighth, two scoring on a double by Johnny Bench. [The Sporting News]
