Buddy Bell, who drove in four runs in the previous night's game, accounted for three more RBIs with a bases-loaded double to lead the Indians to an 8-2 victory over the Yankees. Bell's double came in the third inning, breaking a 1-1 tie, after the Indians had filled the sacks on a single by George Hendrick, double by Charlie Spikes and pass to John Ellis. The Indians iced the verdict with three unearned runs off Sparky Lyle in the eighth. Fritz Peterson, with relief help from Tom Buskey, gained his first victory since July 5. [The Sporting News]
