Joe Rudi hit a homer, double and two singles, driving in five runs, to lead the Athletics' attack in a 10-2 victory over the Rangers. Jesus Alou started the A's rolling with a homer on the first pitch of the game by David Clyde. Rudi hit his round-tripper in the third, drove in another run with a single in the fifth and rapped his double with the bases loaded in the sixth to score Bill North, Sal Bando and Reggie Jackson.
