Orlando Cepeda drove in five runs with a pair of doubles and Amos Otis tripled with the bases loaded to lead the Royals' attack in a 13-3 trouncing of the Brewers. The Royals scored 12 of their runs in the first three innings. Cepeda batted in the first two runs with a double in the opening frame. Otis' triple was the big blow in the second when the Royals scored five times. Cepeda's second double, accounting for three RBIs, climaxed another five-run outburst by the Royals in the third.
