Jim Perry pitched six scoreless innings before being lifted in the seventh, but that was enough for the Indians' veteran righthander to beat the White Sox, 3-2. Charlie Spikes homered in the second inning and then singled and scored in the fourth before Frank Duffy drove in the Indians' third run with a single in the fifth. Perry was removed after giving up a homer by Bucky Dent in the seventh. Pinch-hitter Buddy Bradford greeted the arrival of Tom Hilgendorf with another round-tripper. Tom Buskey relieved Hilgendorf in the eighth and recorded his 12th save. [The Sporting News]
