Although held to only four hits, the Braves were able to defeat the Expos, 4-3. Dusty Baker homered in the second inning and drove in another run with a single in the fourth when the Braves scored three times. Marty Perez led off the decisive stanza with a double and Darrell Evans walked. Hank Aaron singled and so did Baker, each driving in a run. After an intentional pass to Craig Robinson loaded the bases, the Braves added what proved to be the winning run on an infield out by Vic Correll.
