A walk with the bases loaded in the ninth inning handed the Expos a 3-2 victory over the Astros. Ron Woods led off the stanza with a single and was sacrificed to second by Larry Lintz. After an intentional pass to Willie Davis, Larry Biittner struck out, but Ken Forsch then walked Mike Jorgensen to fill the sacks and also passed Ken Singleton to force in the Expos' winning run.

The Astros scored both their runs in the first inning, but Steve Renko homered for the Expos in the third and their tying run followed in the seventh on a walk to Woods, single by Lintz and double play grounder by Davis. [The Sporting News]
