. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Jim Perry gained his 13th victory with the Indians and posted his third shutout of the season by defeating the Rangers, 4-0. Perry allowed only four hits. Two of the Indians' first three runs were unearned off Steve Hargan, who gave up six hits in 4 1/3 innings.

The Indians collected only one more hit the rest of the way, but it was a double by Rusty Torres off David Clyde in the eighth and resulted in a run when Torres moved to third after a long fly by Charlie Spikes and crossed the plate on a sacrifice fly by John Ellis. [The Sporting News]
