Homers by Bill Robinson, Mike Schmidt and Willie Montanez, together with two runs forced in on passes with the bases loaded, featured the Phillies' scoring in a 7-4 victory over the Braves. Robinson hit for the circuit in the second inning, but the Braves came back with three runs in the third, two scoring on a circuit clout by Ralph Garr. Doubles by Jay Johnstone and Bob Boone in the fourth and homer by Schmidt in the fifth tied the score before the Phillies went ahead with three runs in the seventh.

Dave Cash and Larry Bowa singled, Schmidt walked to load the bases and Montanez hit a sacrifice fly to break the tie. After Del Unser drew a pass to fill the sacks again, Johnstone and Robinson walked, each forcing in a run. Montanez added an insurance tally with a homer in the ninth. [The Sporting News]
