A homer by Earl Williams with two men on base capped a four-run outburst in the sixth inning as the Orioles defeated the Twins, 4-1. The Twins had a chance to break loose against Dave McNally in the second, loading the bases with none out, but after one run scored on a grounder by Danny Thompson, Steve Brye bounced into a double play.

In the Orioles' sixth, Tommy Davis singled, advanced on an infield out and counted the tying run on a single by Don Baylor. After Baylor stole both second and third and Brooks Robinson walked, Williams walloped his game-winning homer. [The Sporting News]
