The Braves won the first game of a twi-night doubleheader with the Mets, 4-3, in 10 innings and then completed the sweep with a 6-0 victory in the second game. In the lidlifter, Hank Aaron batted in one run for the Braves and scored another, but in between the Mets counted three times in the sixth on a single by Felix Millan, double by Cleon Jones, pass to Rusty Staub, double by Ed Kranepool and sacrifice fly by Jerry Grote. The Braves tied the score with an unearned run in the ninth. Davey Johnson singled and Craig Robinson, running for him, crossed the plate on an error, an infield out and sacrifice fly by Paul Casanova. In the 10th, Marty Perez singled and Darrell Evans sacrificed. After a strikeout by Rowland Office and intentional pass to Dusty Baker, Mike Lum singled to drive in the winning run.
