Only one strike away from defeat, the Tigers rallied for two runs in the ninth inning to edge the Rangers, 6-5. Steve Foucault, pitching in relief for the Rangers with a 5-4 lead, had a count of three balls and two strikes on Gene Lamont before serving up the pitch that the Tigers' catcher hit for a game-tying homer.
