Al Oliver, batting twice in the Pirates' big inning, singled with the bases loaded on his first trip, driving in two runs, and doubled to produce two more runs on his second appearance. The Pirates' only other hit in the stanza was a single by Richie Zisk, but they also profited from five walks, two hit batsmen and an error while sending 14 men to the plate.
