Bill Freehan collected four hits, including a grand-slam homer, and drove in seven runs to lead the Tigers to an 11-3 victory over the Yankees. Al Kaline accounted for three RBIs. Freehan's jackpot wallop came in the third inning. With two out, Ron LeFlore singled, stole second and scored on a single by Gary Sutherland.
