Dick Bosman pitched his first complete game since no-hitting Oakland July 19, as the Indians, with Oscar Gamble belting a two-run homer, pinned a 7-1 setback on the Tigers. Ed Brinkman ruined Bosman's shutout bid with a leadoff homer in the ninth.

Cleveland scored three in first, two runs coming when Gamble followed a Lowenstein single with a four-bagger. The Indians kayoed Lerrin LaGrow with a four-run third, which included run-producing doubles by Tommy McCraw and Jack Brohamer. [The Sporting News]
