Allowing only singles by Mike Tyson in the third and Bake McBride in the eighth, Jim Lonborg cruised to his 15th victory for the Phillies with a 2-0 blanking of the Cardinals. Philadelphia touched John Curtis for the only run it needed in the second when Greg Luzinski walked, took second on a passed ball and scored on Jerry Martin's single in his first major league at-bat.
