The Rangers and White Sox had to settle for 2-2 tie when rain forced the postponement of their game after six innings. Mike Hargrove and Lenny Randle drove in the Rangers' runs off Stan Bahnsen in the first inning. The White Sox, after picking up a run off Steve Hargan in their half of the first on a triple by Nyls Nyman and sacrifice fly by Jorge Orta, tied the score when Ken Henderson homered in the sixth.
