Relieving in the 10th inning, Max Leon failed to retire a batter and was the loser when Doug Rader singled with the bases loaded to give the Astros a 6-5 victory over the Braves. Paul Siebert, who shut out the Giants for his first major league victory September 15, started for the Astros and was kayoed in the second inning when the Braves scored four times. The Astros came back with three runs, two coming on a homer by Tommy Helms, and tied the score in the third, but the Braves regained the lead in the fourth before Helms batted in the tying run with a single in the sixth.
