An injured toe forced J.R. Richard to leave the mound only one out away from receiving credit for an easy victory as the Astros walloped the Braves, 14-2. With two away in the fifth inning, Richard jammed his toe covering first base as Cliff Johnson fumbled a grounder by Ralph Garr. Dave Roberts relieved and gained the decision.
